Continuing my series of introductions to your 2011 DSOC board members, I’d like to introduce Matt Von Hendy, Chair of the Public Policy Section.
Matt is a Research Librarian at the National Academies of Science in Washington, DC. He has been an SLA member for 5 years and a DSOC member for 3 years.
Although he currently lives in the Washington, DC area, Matt is a native Bostonian. He is also an avid runner, baseball fan, and birder.
Matt will be moderating the Public Policy Section program at SLA 2011 in Philadelphia, “Tracking Public Opinion in the US and Abroad.”
Matt says, “I look forward to seeing many of you at the session!”

As one of the SLA Alignment Ambassadors for DSOC, I thought I'd post about an interesting challenge I just came across. I'm not sure how many of you are Tweeting these days, but you can follow the conversation about the SLA Name Change there by searching for #slaname.
Right now there's an interesting conversation happening. The challenge is to describe what you do at your job in just 3 words. Can you do it?
My response (EyreAffair): Collect, Translate, Redistribute
Comment here on the DSOC blog, or comment on Twitter and include #slaname in your Tweet!
